Robot moving the workpiece to trim on a laser beam
A Fanuc LR mate 200iD is used in the project. Due the nature of the project unlike most cases where workpiece is on the robot and for safety reasons, the TCP (laser focal point) for cutting is not on the robot. This makes the robot to perform a complimentary move to make the correct movement happen on the workpiece.
50W CO2 laser source is used. The laser power can be adjusted in the robot program with 1.5W steps thanks to a tailor-made I/O interface for the robot. The laser source is installed underneath the working surface.
Laser beam is guided and then focused to a predefined focal point as Tool Center Point (TCP).
